We believe in the only
true and living God, and that there are three
persons in the Godhead, Father, Son, and Holy
Ghost, and that these agree in one, are coequal,
coeternal, and coexistent.
(1 Jn. 5:7; Matt. 28:19; Matt. 3:16,17)
We believe in the
total depravity of the entire human family, and
that man is unable to recover himself from his
lost and ruined estate. ( Rom
5:12-19; Gen. 2:16-17, 3:6-7; 1 Cor. 15:22; Rom 3:9-12, 23;
Eph. 2:1; Read the description of the unregenerate man, Rom.
3:10-20)
We believe Jesus
Christ to be the Son of God, the only Saviour
and Redeemer, and that salvation is by His grace
and that alone. ( Rom.
8:29; Heb. 2:13-15; Col. 2:10; Eph. 1:3-12)
We believe in
particular, eternal and unconditional election,
the effectual calling of the elect, and the
final preservation of the saints. ( Rom
8:29-30; Eph. 2:1; Rom. 8:35-39; John 6:37-39; June 1; 1
Peter 1:3-5)
We believe the
scriptures of the Old and New Testament to be
the Word of God, inspired and inerrant, and the
only rule of faith and practice. (II
Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Pet. 1:21)
We believe that
Baptism and the Lord's Supper are ordinances of
the Church of Jesus Christ, and that washing of
the Saints feet is an example to be kept, and
that true believers, born of the Holy Spirit,
are the only fit subjects of these ordinances.
And that the only water baptism taught and
recognized in the Bible is immersion or dipping.
( 1
Cor. 11:24-29; Acts 8:36-38; John 13:1-17)
We believe that no
minister has the right to administer the
ordinances of Baptism and the Lord's Supper but
such as are regularly called by the God of
Heaven and come under the impositions of hands
by a presbytery. (Acts
13:1-3; 1 Timothy 4:1-4)
We believe in the
resurrection of the just and the unjust, that
the just shall be raised, changed and fashioned
like the glorious body of the Son of God, and
dwell in heaven forever, soul and body reunited,
and that the unjust shall be raised and cosigned
to eternal punishment. (Acts
24:15; 1 Cor. 15:42-44, 51-55; II Cor. 4:14)
